One Meat Please...

OK my first sort of gaming review and mini story. Last few days in halls me and a bunch of mates have been lanning it up on Xbox 360 system link on Gears of War and Halo 3. My First time playing Gears of War so first impression, mmm shiny! Its actually a excellent game, nothing better than creeping up on your friend on the OpFor and chainsawing his ass. After some testosterone induced play we switched to Halo 3, now its on and melee and rocket launchers are where its at.

After many hours of playing on my friends 360 i finally decided "yeah i would actuality want one". Last console i owned was a PS2 (I know, call my self a game art student). So today with my fat overdraft i decided to purchase a Xbox 360 Elite with all the trimmings, everything gets taken to the counter and you know that feeling of doubt in the back of your mind saying "oh crap what happens if my card gets rejected". But you just shrug it off, that wont happen to me, no way. Anyway guy behind the counter asks the usual "please insert your card.... please insert pin...", awkward wait... COMPUTER SAYS NO!

No 360 elite for me :(

Why do i ache sooo much!

Well I'll tell you why (answering my own question from the title), apart from gaming and socialising i.e. getting drunk with friends or by my self at 9am on a monday morning before my 3D modeling lesson at uni.

I am a Airsofter, whats airsofting i hear you shout, well its sorta like paintball but only better and cheaper. Instead of firing crappy paintballs, airsoft uses Ball Berings. Yes thats 6mm 0.2g plastic hard balls. Anway airsoft in the UK takes place in regulated sites run by a reconized governing body. The staff/marshals at the site regulate games and set up different situations for each game, this mainly depends on what type of site and the size (urban, woodland, etc etc).

Most Airsoft sites attrach 100 to 300+ players for one whole day of airsofting. People use replica looking firearms (which in no way can be converted to use real bullets). General there are two teams which are marked by colours so people playing can tell whos who (well its ment to work that way, but in most cases you end of shouting at a group of people in heavy cover the name of your team and they ending up to be the OpFor, so in this case their answer consists of a hail of BBs.)
Recently after a dry patch of not playing airsoft since i moved to Uni i went with a friend to Urban Assault outside of Huntingdon near Peterborough. Ive never played at a Urban site before, im only used to Ground Zero Airsoft at Ringwood. Anyway first impressions excellent site, some real nice areas and buildings. I also took aload of pics... enjoy!

Welcome!

Welcome to my first entry at Beef Induced Coma. You're probably wondering why the hell did I call it this....well, long story short I like beef, I like beef in a bun made of bread therefore making it a "Beef Burger".

Anyway I wont be boring you with the beef thing, I am here to talk about my current university course and topics that are related to it. I'll also introduce myself, my name is James Crang, I'm currently in my first year at DeMontfort Uni in Leicester and studying Game Art (yes that's computer games). My first little rant to start my blog off is about my laptop and its lack of serial ports for my wacom tablet. Is it so hard to add one ikle port to a laptop. That is all. Hope you join me again soon, I promise i will have more interesting matters to discuss. o/
